HIRE AN ARTIST INSTEAD OF AI”: JOYCA'S LATEST VIDEO ON AI FRUSTRATES VIEWERS**
In his latest video, Joyca, joined by YouTuber Seb, attempts to identify personalities generated by AI. However, the concept has irritated many viewers, who are upset that the content creator didn't hire real artists for the project.
"Guess Who It Is." This is the latest concept from YouTuber Joyca. Together with Seb, the 6.6 million-subscriber content creator tried to recognize celebrities or characters transformed into various graphic styles using artificial intelligence.
Published on April 13, the video has already surpassed 2 million views. However, it hasn't exactly thrilled all viewers. In the comments section under the video, and on X (formerly Twitter), some users criticized Joyca for not involving actual artists.
"Prioritize artists for your professional and artistic projects. AI cannot replace human sensitivity," Joyca himself says in the opening moments of the video. Yet, this message did little to convince viewers.
"Please, hire an artist instead of using AI! Jordan, you have the means to pay someone, and the message would be much stronger if you just hired someone instead of relying on AI," wrote one commenter. Another user added, "Talking about the issue of AI and its impact on artists is great, but putting those words into practice is even better."
Some viewers suggested, "It would be cool to involve artists who work in those styles or even their own unique styles. This could showcase a lot of talent and bring a true creative dimension to the concept."
One commenter summed up their frustration: "Joyca’s video is a joke. I can’t believe it."
In response to the backlash, Joyca addressed the criticism in his Instagram story. "This video is part of a concept I started four years ago. The aim was to observe the evolution with the latest updates," the YouTuber explained.

To quell the criticism, Joyca proposed creating a new episode without the use of AI. "Would you be interested in the same concept, but this time with lots of artists involved?" he asked. Over 40,000 people responded positively to the idea. "We’ll make it happen," Joyca promised.
